Dermal Fillers
Areas we treat
Lips
Definition, hydration and subtle volume rather than size. We work conservatively, usually starting with half a millilitre, and we'd rather build over two appointments than overfill in one.
Cheeks & Midface
Often the most effective single treatment on this list. Restoring midface volume lifts the tissue beneath it, which softens nasolabial folds and under-eye hollowing without either being treated directly.
Tear Troughs
Under-eye hollowing and shadowing. Technically demanding, and not suitable for everyone — thin skin, significant fat herniation or fluid retention can all make this the wrong treatment. We decline it more often than we perform it.
Nasolabial Folds & Marionette Lines
The folds running from nose to mouth, and from mouth corners to chin. Frequently better addressed by supporting the cheek above than by filling the fold itself.
Jawline & Chin
Definition and balance. Particularly effective in profile, and often what people are actually looking for when they ask about their neck.
Temples
Hollowing at the temples is an under-recognised ageing change. Restoring it softens the whole upper face.
Non-surgical Rhinoplasty
Smoothing a dorsal bump or refining the tip. This is the highest-risk area on the face for filler and we treat it accordingly — assessment only with a senior practitioner, and we say no where the anatomy warrants it.
Hands
Volume loss on the backs of the hands, which often ages a person more visibly than their face.

What To Expect
Consultation.
We assess your face in proportion rather than area by area, discuss your medical history, and agree a plan. We'll tell you if we think you need less than you came in asking for, or something different entirely.
Treatment.
Most appointments take 30 to 60 minutes. The products we use contain a local anaesthetic and we apply topical numbing beforehand, so discomfort is generally mild.
Immediately After.
Expect some swelling and the possibility of bruising, particularly on lips and under the eyes. Lips swell considerably for the first 24 to 48 hours — this is normal and not your result.
Settling.
Most swelling resolves within a week. Filler continues to settle and integrate for up to four weeks, which is when we review you and assess whether anything needs refining.
Duration.
Typically six to eighteen months depending on the area and the product used. Lips and areas with more movement generally metabolise faster.
Risks and how we manage them
Filler is a medical procedure and carries real risks. Any clinic that doesn't discuss them properly is one to avoid.
Common and expected: swelling, bruising, tenderness, small lumps that settle or are massaged out.
Uncommon: persistent lumps or asymmetry requiring adjustment, infection, delayed inflammatory reactions.
Rare but serious: vascular occlusion, where filler compromises a blood vessel. This is the complication that matters, and it requires immediate recognition and treatment.
We keep reversal agent on site at all times, our practitioners are trained in complication management, and you will be given direct contact details for the same-day management of any concern. We don't treat anyone we can't follow up.
Who we can and can't treat
Treatment is available to over-18s only. This is a legal requirement in England for cosmetic injectable treatments, and we ask for ID where there is any doubt.
We will postpone or decline if you:
-
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
-
Have an active skin infection or inflammation at the site
-
Have a history of severe allergy or anaphylaxis
-
Have an autoimmune or connective tissue condition — we will assess individually
-
Are taking blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder
-
Have had a recent dental procedure, or a vaccination within two weeks
-
Have body dysmorphic concerns, or expectations we don't think treatment can meet
That last one matters as much as the clinical ones. Filler doesn't fix how someone feels about their face, and we don't treat where we think it would do harm.
Q's & A's
Will I look like I've had something done?
Not if it's done properly. Overfilled faces are the result of too much product, applied repeatedly, without anyone stepping back to look at the whole face. We build gradually and review.
Does it hurt?
Mild discomfort rather than pain. The products contain local anaesthetic and we numb the area first. Lips are the most sensitive area.
How long until I look normal?
For most areas, a day or two. For lips, allow three to four days before anything significant, and a week to be certain.
Can it be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if needed. We'd discuss this with you in clinic if it were ever appropriate.
How long does it last?
Six to eighteen months, depending on the area, the product and you. Structural areas like cheeks and jawline generally last longest.
Can I have filler and other treatments together?
Often, though sequencing matters. We'll plan it at consultation.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Come back. Your two-week review exists precisely for that conversation, and adjustment at that point is included.
